Ministering to the people of Lake Chapala, Mexico
The Grangers
Dear Pastor and Praying Friends, July-September 2020 We have so much to be thankful for. We have had a lot of changes we have made and are so grateful for Gods hand in every minute of every decision. Upon returning back to Mexico in March, things as you know, started changing around the world. Mexico began its lockdown for COVID-19 around the middle of March. Closing businesses, stopping travel, closing churches among other things. With this pandemic it changed our plans, as it has for most everyone. Our plans when returning to Mexico were to begin our packing and move to Chapala to begin our new church plant. Well, that didn’t happen. The Lord had us staying right where we were, in Zacatecas, for the next three months. Although we could not have church services, the Lord did open the door for us to start the new ministry “feed the five thousand”. With this ministry we have been able to take food to many people that have been affected by the Virus. Along with food we also gave out the book of Romans and gospel tracts. As of date there have been over 400 families fed and reached with the gospel through this ministry. Thank you to those that have sacrificially given to this ministry during this very difficult time. We will continue with this ministry because so many people here have lost there jobs and in Mexico there is no government help for them and some people are literally starving and do not know how their families are going to be fed. You can go to missionary2mexico.com for more information about this ministry and to donate. Upon writing this letter we have made it to the Chapala area Praise be to God! Businesses are slowly beginning to open and are beginning to get back to a new normal. There are still many restrictions we have to follow and not everything is allowed to proceed as we would like. We still are not allowed to have any type of services but Jalisco, our state, will allow us to pass out food. So “feed the five thousand” will be able to continue here. We have found a near by village that is in great need! With that another opportunity to minister has open for us. I able to talk with a nursing home administrator this week of a faculty near us and he is going to allow us to have a bible study with the residents there as soon as the government lifts the lockdown of their facility. As of right now they are not allowing any visitors because of COVID-19. So please help us pray about this new nursing home ministry, I feel the Lord is opening up for us! The administrator is allowing us to bring things to the residents; socks, blankets, books, etc. if you would like to be apart of this ministry you can send donated items to our PO Box in Texas. Even with this pandemic the Lord is opening ways for us to minister to the people He has called us to and we are so grateful for these opportunities! We do want to share with you also that we have found a home in a small provada called Senderos de Lago, translated, Lake Trails. We are excited to get settled into our new home and to begin the new ministries God has for us here. With our recent move, COVID-19 restrictions on the ministry, we also have a new sending church we are so grateful for. Rock Grove Baptist Church and Pastor Ben Hall have been partnered with us since April and have been such a great blessing and help to us and we are so grateful God has given them to us. I have sent out an email with all our new information, with our new home church name, address and new pastors name and phone number, also with our new support address. If you haven’t received that email please contact me and I will be happy to share the information with you. Again, Gods hand has been in everything with all our new changes and we are so thankful and excited for what He is going to do in these changes and new ministries. We again want to say a huge thank you to those that have prayed for us during this very crazy time of Covid-19 and to those that have prayed and given to “feed the five thousand”. We are so blessed to have each one of you to help and support us so the work can go forward in Mexico. We love you all! In His Service Bro. Alan S. Granger 1 Samuel 17:29
